Why is a name important?
INTRODUCTION: THE IMPORTANCE OF OUR NAME. Our names are an incredibly important part of our identity. They carry deep personal, cultural, familial, and historical connections. They also give us a sense of who we are, the communities in which we belong, and our place in the world.

A strong name is: It should stand out from competitors' names, as well as from other words in a sentence. This is sometimes called "speech-stream visibility", the quality that lets the eye or the ear pick out the name as a proper (or capitalized) word instead of a common word. They even go so far as to say that people with the same names seem to have similar personalities. Turner (2009) observes that Levitt (2005) theorizes that one's name can affect one's ability to succeed.
How significant is a name?
From the reason to why we were given such a name to the historical lineage and significance of what a name has come to represent, our name, beyond it's objective purpose, encompasses what and who each of us is. It's essence is at the very heart of our existence. In respect to this, do names matter? The Right Name Matters a Lo. Names matter a lot. Just like people judge a book by it's cover, they judge an idea, company or whatever by the name. The right name for your idea matters a lot. The right name for your company can make or break your company, or give you a huge advantage in the market.

Proverbs 22:1 ? "A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, loving favor rather than silver and gold." But if one has to choose between them, Solomon says, "Choose a good name." As far back as 1948, studies indicated that the names we are given affect how we perform later in life.
