What happens when a manifested card dies?
When your manifested card dies, Gift's trigger tries to return that card to the battlefield. This is where you have a few possible outcomes depending on what the card was: If it was a creature: It returns face-up. Gift will return attached to it on your end step.

A manifested planeswalker card that is cloudshifted will still enter the battlefield, so it will still have its starting loyalty counters. Does manifesting count as casting? Does manifest count as casting a creature? No. Manifesting a card is always part of another spell or ability resolving.

You can use a morph ability to cast a card from any zone from which you could normally play it. When the spell resolves, it enters the battlefield with the same characteristics the spell had. The morph effect applies to the face-down object wherever it is, and it ends when the permanent is turned face up. How does sudden substitution work? If the target spell or the target creature is an illegal target as Sudden Substitution resolves, the exchange won't happen. In a multiplayer game, if the controller of one of the objects leaves the game after Sudden Substitution resolves, the effect that gave them control of the spell or permanent expires.
